iTunes 10.11.6 to 10.14.6

I'm wanting to transfer my library from my older iMac to my Macbook Pro, and see it can be done by just replacing the the whole iTunes folder. My query is about the different versions of Mac OS.


I notice that 10.11 lists the podcasts folder in among the music artists, whereas 10.14 separates music/podcasts etc in iTunes Media separate folders.


Does this affect importing iTunes from an earlier OS?

I've been using Logitech headset without any issues for the past week. I accidentally hit the "deny" access button yesterday when a message popped up, and now the software/driver has been disabled.

MacBook Pro 16" 2019 with AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4GB and Intel UHD Graphics 630 - macOS Big Sur Version 11.5.2


9-in-1 Dongle:

  • 2x HDMI and 1xDP Port
  • After much testing, concluded:
    • Either HDMI port causes the crash a few seconds after connection, haven't tested DP
    • It doesn't happen just after sleep recovery (as I first suspected)
  • Crash report definitively states graphics <service> Helper (GPU) issues
    • Could be due to GPU acceleration or swapping between the integrated/dedicated GPU
    • Services I've seen are Chrome, Slack, and Code Helper
  • After a reboot while the dongle is connected, it works fine


5-in-1 Dongle:

  • 1x HDMI, 1x VGA
  • Doesn't crash cause a crash but
  • Have an issue with my USB keyboard not being recognized and it needs to be connected/disconnected twice and takes some time for USB PD passthrough to work


Both do have USB-C passthrough(unsure on the rating on the smaller dongle, don't have the specs), and at least 1x USB-A port. 


I'd rather be able to use my larger dongle obviously since I paid for it and it has more features that I want. 


I suspect the extra digital connections are causing an issue with the graphics switching because it naturally would need to drive more, causing this crash.


Any suggestions on how to remedy this in software? I have workarounds, sure, but would like a more permanent solution

  • Disabling hardware acceleration seems like a poor choice due to performance/efficiency issues
